TWO NATIONAL SPORTS POWERHOUSES JOIN FORCES TO CHANGE THE GAME

Midwest Sports Productions partners with Perfect Game to create Perfect Game Midwest

SHAWNEE, Kan. and CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Nov. 11, 2020):

Midwest Sports Productions (MSP) announces a groundbreaking partnership with Perfect Game (PG) to create Perfect Game Midwest (PG Midwest). With 50+ years of combined experience in the baseball and fastpitch industries, PG Midwest will change the way the game is played. This powerful partnership will unify MSP’s focus on growing the game of youth sports with PG’s unrivaled ability to elevate players through their advanced resources in facilities, operations, and technology.

“For nearly 15 years, MSP has been committed to producing high-quality events for the baseball and fastpitch communities, providing opportunities to student-athletes to love the game and achieve their goals,” said Jeremy McDowell, MSP Founder and CEO. “I could not be more excited about the opportunity to join forces with Perfect Game. They have a long-standing record of quality service, a commitment to growing diamond sports and a true mission of impacting communities across the nation for generations to come.”

Founded in 2007, MSP’s commitment to creating lifetime memories, both on and off the diamonds, has developed into the largest youth baseball and fastpitch event company in the nation. Through its more than 150 events spanning across 10 states, MSP welcomes 1.4 million people through its gates each year featuring 9,000 teams, 100,000 athletes, and 30,000 coaches. MSP is known for the coveted Monster Bash, Alex Gordon Classic and the world’s largest baseball tournament, the Hawaiian Hitfest.

“Adding MSP, Jeremy McDowell and his team, continues our mission to always put the game, its young players, the coaches and their families first, as we grow the game of baseball and softball,” said Jerry Ford PG Founder and President. “This expands our reach and influence both geographically in the Midwest and demographically.  A whole new generation of players will be introduced to Perfect Game. Our partnership with MSP is incredibly exciting.”

PG is the premier platform for amateur baseball players across the country. They are industry leaders in utilizing advanced technology to manage extensive databases, scouting reports and player rankings. This visibility has resulted in 85% of all MLB draft picks having participated in PG events. Their focus on excellence and using best-in-class facilities is evident in the nearly 5,000 tournaments, showcases and events they host each year across the nation. PG events have developed more than 250,000+ college baseball commitments, 1,500+ Major League Baseball players and 41 of the 2019 MLB All-Stars. They are also experts in partnering with national media in addition to utilizing their own digital platforms including PerfectGame.org, PerfectGame.TV, three Sirius XM radio shows and PG DiamondKast live scoring and stats.

“This new partnership between Midwest Sports Productions and Perfect Game could have a very positive impact on the youth baseball and softball landscape,” said Dayton Moore, General Manager of the Kansas City Royals. “For many years, our family spent weekends at the ballpark watching our son Robert play in tournaments like the Hawaiian Hitfest and Monster Bash, making great memories. Then as he grew older, the Perfect Game experience and platform provided opportunities and challenges for him to grow his game to the collegiate level. I am excited that student-athletes across the Midwest may find the opportunity to reach their goals in ways they had not imagined before.”

“This presents a wonderful opportunity for so many talented female athletes,” said Amanda Freed, Olympic Gold Medalist and host of PG’s Sirius XM radio show. “As a member of the PG family on the media side, I have had the opportunity to witness their drive and dedication of resources to the baseball and now softball communities.”

PG’s reach extends far beyond the ballpark. Through the creation of the PG Cares Foundation, PG has provided mentorship, guidance and support to youth from America’s underserved and at-risk communities. In similar fashion, MSP Love was founded to give players, coaches and fans an avenue to make a positive impact on their communities through donation drives, fundraisers and volunteer opportunities. Combining the efforts of both organizations under the PG Cares Foundation, children across the country will receive the hope and opportunity they need to achieve their dreams and create a brighter future.

PG Midwest will be based in the Kansas City Metro area and will serve Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Minnesota, Wisconsin, The Dakotas, Colorado and Wyoming, as well as supporting other facets of PG across the country.

“We are focused on every athlete that wants to play the game,” said McDowell. “With the launch of PG Midwest, that commitment will not change and we look forward to inspiring more athletes to dream big.”
